History

The inception of Metro Group dates back to 1998, when 3 likeminded graduated engineers initiated and established a facilitated stream line of apartment under the title of “metro Engineers” their embodied vision and united drive played significant route in the corporation’s success. In 1998, Metro Engineers evolved into metro constructions (Pvt) Ltd. By 2003 Metro Group was awarded the prestigious and highly acknowledged BOI Status in recognition of its sustained quality performance and the Metro Group became the dominant market leader in the industry. Towards the late 2000 due to the deteriorating security situation in the country, Metro Group temporarily withdrew from the Sri Lankan housing and construction industry and made inroads into the well-established and regulated UK and Australian housing markets.

Corporate success

By 2003 Metro group acquired the reputation as a reliable and quality builder in the apartment segment of the housing market by prudently combining the Founder’s core competences namely, professional civil engineering, project and financial management, their commitment to stringent compliance measures and inherent customer orientation values and practices. Within a short span of 10 years, Metro Group had completed 11 apartment complexes and delivered on schedule over 400 apartment units to the satisfaction of its diverse customer base in Colombo region. Metro Group established a benchmark in customer service by granting title deeds to all their customers upon taking possession of their respective apartment units. This standard of service enabled them to gain market leadership. While achieving the corporate success in business, Metro Group has adopted (CSR) principles as an integral component of its corporate philosophyand Group had continue to discharge its corporate social responsibility by financially assisting schools, NGOs and charities in Colombo Region, Northeast and up-country in Sri Lanka. Particularly when tsunami struck in December 2005, founders of Metro Group responded swiftly to address the post disaster relief and recovery needs and assistance in the NorthEast is substantial.
